An important time of the year for Sicilians is the festival of St Agata.
Thousands of Sicilians join in the festivities, reaching all sections of Catania. The 3rd, 4th and 5th Feb are the major days with schools closed, streets blocked and people celebrating in the traditional way.
Heavy candelore's carried by strong men, brass band music ringing out, fireworks in the day and night. It's a real sight to see.
